Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last Friday I gave h_yoton a Dutch Oven (-10 points). In July I caught a purse-snatcher who stole u_enterprises's purse (30 points). Last Monday ld_sk and I robbed a bank (-50 points). Last Sunday I pushed sharpshot1010 in the mud (-17 points). Last month I donated bone marrow to jewel_battalion in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Overall, I've been nice (253 points). For Christmas I deserve a Pony Slaystation 3! Hey, Sasuke, now that I think about it - is Mikoto Uchiha your mom?

My mother said coming to Oshima a month early would give me plenty of time to adjust to the new environment and to make friends. However, she made the mistake of letting my father and some of his bodyguards men accompany me on the way here. *smirks* Within fifteen minutes of getting off the ferry we found a tattoo parlor. We didn't go in, merely did some window shopping. While nothing like the designs back home in the big city, they were well-drawn. Father said he might come back for one from the guy later.

Anyway, our search completed we headed to the apartment complex I'll be staying. The landlord is meek nice enough, and the building is nice. My apartment's pretty basic, but being near the beach means that I get a lot more natural light than I would have if I was closer to the town. And the balcony is just big enough for me to set up an easel on so I can paint outside. And the windows are large.

Anyone else around here live near the beach?

Anyway, most of my luggage and furniture is here since father used some connections and now they're at a hotel for the night, and will be leaving at first light. (He needs to get back home for a meeting with the mayor.)

I started unpacking my art supplies since tomorrow is supposed to have nice weather. I'm thinking about heading to the beach to sketch for a bit before wandering around town. I need to find a good art supply store (hopefully they're have quality stuff so I won't have to get them from mother) and other such important stores.

As we were on the ferry coming over, one of the passengers approached me and warned me about something that happened with an Oshima teacher later. It doesn't sound like the miscreants who attacked the teacher are yakuza, but hopefully I can find out who they are. I need to get started on adding contacts to my information network.

I wonder if I'll bump into any Oshima students tomorrow. Do any of you stay on the island during break?
